Time Away

It's been a while since I last posted but yet so much has happened in my daughters life. As a teacher the end of the school year, although fun, is very busy. Since then I've been getting ready for our cruise to the Bahama's without our daughter. So I had lots to pack.

This is our first time both being away from Meg and it was harder than I thought. As much as you think you look forward to the time to yourself and to keep your marriage going, you are so used to having a third person around that you feel a bit lost. When I waved bye bye to her as she left with my parents I felt my heart crack and the tears well up in my eyes. I closed the door and told myself to get it together now or I would be like this for the full week. I managed, but missed her every second of the day.

The big milestone for her was official potty training. Yes, I left this dirty deed to my step-mother and mother-in-law. We had been practising up until our vacation but they took the leaps and bounds to take her out and about without diapers. And we now have a girl who goes pee on the potty. So at 2 years and 10 months she's a "big girl now".

She amazes me everyday. She can use the word "actually" in context. "Actually I think I'll play this instead". Lately she's taken to saying "alright alright alright - lets do it" although it sounds like "awight awight awight". Soooo cute.

Until next time I'll work on getting her to read!
