Well today we got our Christmas tree. We took Meg out to the nursery where we have bought our tree for the last 5 years. She was running all over the place. She wanted to play with wooden elves with the hole cut out for her to poke her face through. She makes a cute elf.
This Christmas season didn't start off to well. My dad got in a car accident with my car and luckily he was OK and the car is fixable. So it's nice to have the needles in the rental vehicle instead of my own for a change.
Meg was so excited to decorate the tree. She was hanging as much as she could on the tree before we put the lights on. We had to make her wait. She picked coloured lights and away we went. Lots of lights makes for lots of twinkle. Every so often she would say, "Actually, I think this should go over here." I wondered if she would get bored after a few ornaments went on, but no! She decorated until the very end. She even wanted to put up the broken ornaments. Now this might not seem so interesting (sounds like every other family putting up a tree right?). Well how many 3 year olds put up ornaments with their little bare bum hanging out? If she didn't have to wear clothes she wouldn't! A sight to see, I tell ya!
While decorating I would take time out to make moulded chocolate snowmen and gingerbread men for my class. 31 kids makes for a lot of moulding chocolate. It would have been cheaper to buy them something I'm sure. But, they are worth it.
Merry Christmas everyone. Can't wait to blog about the big day :)
